भारतीय प्रौद्योगिकी संस्थान (आईआईटी) गुवाहाटी ने दुनिया के टॉप 100 विश्वविद्यालयों में भारत को पहली बार जगह दिलाई है जिसे 87 वें नंबर पर रखा गया है. टाइम्स हायर एजुकेशन पत्रिका द्वारा आज यहां जारी ‘100 अंडर 50’ संस्थानों के 2014 लीग टेबल में आईआईटी गुवाहाटी एकमात्र भारतीय शिक्षण संस्थान है.आईआईटी को सूची में पुर्तगाल की न्यू यूनिवर्सिटी ऑफ लिस्बन एंड आस्ट्रेलिया की यूनिवर्सिटी ऑफ वेस्टर्न सिडनी के साथ 87 वां स्थान मिला है.

विश्व की सबसे बड़ी संर्च इंजन-गूगल ने माना है कि चुनावों और मैच फिक्सिंग तथा सट्टेबाजी से जुड़े मामलों के कारण लोगों के बीच इंडियन प्रीमियर लीग (आईपीएल) के सातवें संस्करण की लोकप्रियता कम हुई है. गूगल के बयान के मुताबिक भले ही आईपीएल की साख या फिर उसकी लोकप्रियता पर बट्टा लगा हो लेकिन चेन्नई सुपर किंग्स सर्च इंजन पर सबसे अधिक खोजी जाने वाली टीम है. गूगल ने कहा, "मौजूदा आकलन आईपीएल-7 के पहले सप्ताह में मिले नतीजो के आधार पर हैं. उस सप्ताह डिजिटल दर्शकों के बीच इस लीग की लोकप्रियता में कमी देखी गई थी."
कम्पनी ने कहा है कि बीते साल आईपीएल का जबरदस्त क्रेज था लेकिन इस साल उसमें साफ-साफ कमी देखी गई है. बीते साल लीग की शुरूआत के साथ इससे जुड़ी खबरों, टीमों और खिलाड़ियों को लेकर जबरदस्त सर्च किया जा रहा था.
गूगल ने कहा कि क्रिकेट के दीवाने देश में आईपीएल के प्रांतीय रूप से लोकप्रिय होने की बड़ी रोचक बात सामने आई है. पश्चिम बंगाल में आईपीएल को लेकर सबसे अधिक सर्च किए गए.
बीते साल कर्नाटक से लीग को लेकर सबसे अधिक सर्च आए थे लेकिन इस साल कर्नाटक इस मामले में पांचवें स्थान पर खिसक गया है.
सर्च नतीजों से साफ हुआ है कि प्रशंसकों के अंदर सुपर किंग्स के बारे में जानने की सबसे अधिक उत्सुकता है. इसके बाद वे रॉयल चैलेंजर्स बैंगलोर के बारे में जानना चाहते हैं.
सबसे अधिक सर्च की जाने वाली टीमों की सूची में मुम्बई इंडियंस तीसरे, कोलकाता नाइट राइर्डस चौथे, किंग्स इलेवन पांचवें और राजस्थान रॉयल्स छठे स्थान पर है. सनराइजर्स हैदराबाद और दिल्ली डेयरडेविल्स क्रमश: सातवें और आठवें स्थान पर हैं.


पाकिस्तानी सेना प्रमुख ने कश्मीर को 'गले की नस' बताया

पाकिस्तान के सेना प्रमुख जनरल रहील शरीफ ने बुधवार को कश्मीर राग अलापते हुए कहा है कि उसके लिए कश्मीर गले के नस की तरह बेहद महत्वपूर्ण है। उन्होंने कहा कि क्षेत्र में शांति और स्थिरता के लिए कश्मीर मसले का हल कश्मीरियों की इच्छाओं और आकांक्षाओं एवं संयुक्त राष्ट्र सुरक्षा परिषद के प्रस्तावों अनुरूप होना चाहिए।
शरीफ ने रावलपिंडी में शहीद दिवस के अवसर पर कहा कि कश्मीर एक अंतरराष्ट्रीय स्तर पर मान्यता प्राप्त विवाद है। उन्होंने कहा कि कश्मीरियों का बलिदान व्यर्थ नहीं जाएगा। सेना प्रमुख ने कहा कि हम हमेशा शांति के पक्ष में हैं लेकिन क्षेत्र में कोई उकसावे की कार्रवाई का मुंहतोड़ जवाब देने के लिए पूरी तरह से तैयार है।
